Twombly Performance Horse Sale was held September 17th, 2011 at Coyote Slide Ranch near Scottsbluff, Nebraska. This sale marked their 15th year of offering great riding geldings to their customers. New editions were made to improve the sale, only Twombly horses were sold, they had a trail horse competition which was judged by the buyers and a great warranty to the buyers! A saddle was given to JD Doyle of Montana who ended up being the top judge of the horse competition! Cody Minton of Montana won a buckle by purchasing a weanling and winning the draw. Levenstams of California took home a saddle for buying the high selling gelding of the day! We had a good crowd on hand from 15 states and 2 countries! A few of the top horses are listed below.
Dunnit Whiz was one of the highlights of the auction and when it was all said and done he demanded a price tag of $30,000!!! Levenstams of CALIFORNIA took home this awesome gelding and a New Trophy Saddle! At Lot# 29 this 5 yr old Buckskin gelding was as fancy as they come and broke to death! An own son of Topsail Whiz and by a great daughter of Hollywood Dun It! He will be a great edition to their gelding collection back in California which they purchased from the Twombly family.


Ima Billie Cat came in at second high and went home with the Spoons from MONTANA for $15,000! Lot# 45, the “Cat” was a fancy dude and broke the right way! Roped both ends and would cut a cow! A great horse to ride on the trails! He was a grandson of High Brow Cat and Smart Little Pistol and was colored like none other!

Lot# 43, Zan Its Rehi, was an own son of Zan It! Raised by the Twomblys. This 4 yr old Buckskin gelding was fancy broke, roped both ends and a lot of fun to ride on the ranch! Jones of UTAH had the final bid and took home this awesome horse at $14,500!

TT Double Dare was a 4 yr old dun gelding by Zan It! At Lot# 55, he was born and raised here on the ranch. “Diesel” was a fancy little gelding that was broke and gentle! He had all the ability in the world and was as cute as one could be! He sold to Harris of UTAH for $14,000!

Prochnow from WISCONSIN Purchased Lot# 41, Cowboys Shinin 508, for a bid of $14,000! This was a fancy, little, 6 yr old, bay roan gelding that was broke to death and gentle for the whole family! Roped both ends and was a grandson of Shining Spark!

For sure one of the fanciest geldings of the sale was Pistol Jac Lot# 32! He was well broke and a huge stand out! Just a 3 yr old but was very broke and gentle to be around! Own son of Custom Pistol! Maddox of UTAH had his eye on him and ended up taking him home for $13,500!

Hallwachs from CANADA spent the week with us and decided to purchase Lot# 34, Topsailndual for a bid of $13,000! A big, 5 yr old buckskin gelding that was well broke, a blast to head steers on and a great horse to ride down the trails! He was as gentle as he was big!

Lot# 47, Cowboy Martini, fetched a final bid of $12,000 from Maddox of UTAH! He was an absolutely gorgeous 4 yr old buckskin gelding that was gentle for most anyone! Cowboy was a cadillac trail horse and as smooth as glass to ride!

Calvo from NEBRASKA took home LOT# 35, Lil Smart Commander. He went for $11,000! Boomer was a 4 yr old dun gelding and was broke the best and was roping both ends! This was Tia’s favorite horse! Boomer went to a good home!

Cowboys Shinin 616 was a 5 yr old dark buckskin gelding that sold to Boyle of ARIZONA for a final bid of $11,000! At Lot# 49 he was very gentle and was making a great head horse! Gentle for anyone out on the trails!

Lot# 36, DJ Cam Be Jet, was a big, 7 yr old, red roan gelding that was a nice heading horse! He went to a good home with Lomsdal of MINNESOTA for $11,000! “O” was very gentle and laid back. Good horse on the trails!

The Spoons of MONTANA also took home LOT# 40, Conquistadors Dream, for a bid of $10,500! He was a beautiful 6 yr old gelding that had won $$$ in the NRHA! One of the better broke horses in the sale and automatic on the trails!

Williby of CALIFORNIA took home LOT# 48, Twist Of Dakota, for $9,250! He was a 6 yr old grullo gelding that was real gentle, started on the heeling side and a great ranch horse!

Dirks of MISSOURI purchased LOT # 39, Watch Dakota Cowboy, for $9,000. “Buff” was a big, gentle, 6 yr old, buckskin gelding that was started heading steers and was ridden on the ranch extensively.

Marshal Zan was a big, 7 yr old, Buckskin gelding that sold to Toth of CANADA for a final bid of $8,000! “Tanner” was a big, pretty horse that was very gentle and started heading steers! Also a good one on the trails!
Maughan of UTAH purchased LOT# 44, Spark N Spin, for $7,750! He was one of the prettiest horses in the sale and well broke! “Shimmer” was a 7 yr old, Palomino gelding, grandson of Shining Spark!
The Minton’s of MONTANA took home LOT# 50, Peponita Moon Drift, for $7,000! “Doojee” was a gentle, 6 yr old, roan gelding that was started roping and an awesome trail horse!
Maddox of UTAH also took home LOT# 27, Hurricane Tuff Bar, for $6,000! He was a big, heavy made, black gelding that was gentle for anyone to ride!
Im Justa Vaquero was LOT# 33, a 5 yr old, sorrel gelding that was Broke Broke Broke! He sold for $5,500 to Sandrini’s of WYOMING.
LOT# 1 sold for $5,500. Brown of MISSOURI took home this beautiful, buttermilk buckskin son of Zan It.
First gelding in the sale ring was LOT# 26, Dontfoolwithmymoney. A 7 yr old palomino gelding that sold for $5,000 to Prochnow of WISCONSIN!
Boyle of ARIZONA also took home LOT# 51, Hansome Skipastar, for $4,750.
Holly from WYOMING purchased LOT# 52, Skipper Bueno Buck, for $4,750.
Hinze From COLORADO purchased LOT# 42, Zan Its Legacy, for $3,750.
Kemper of COLORADO purchased LOT# 38, Blue Pokey Jack, for $3,700.
